Chantal Vergouw (1976) has more than 21 years of experience in the banking and insurance sector, predominantly in the fields of digitalization, customer service, operations, marketing, branding and omnichannel sales to the B2C and B2B markets. She became a member of KPN’s Supervisory Board on April 13, 2022. She has been appointed a member of the Board of Management of KPN as Chief Business Market with effect from June 1, 2023.
Chantal studied Dutch Law at the University of Amsterdam. In 2002, after graduating, she joined ING Groep N.V. where she occupied various management positions in different divisions of the company, including Head Corporate and Mid-Corporate Clients ING Wholesale Insurance and a member of the board of ING Bank NL Private Banking. In 2012, she became Chief Operating Officer at ING Commercial Finance & ING Lease NL. Before her appointment as Chief Business Market at KPN, Chantal had been CEO of insurance company Interpolis since 2016. She also spent five years as a member of the Supervisory Board of Eureko Sigorta in Turkey.
As Chief Business Market she is responsible for KPN’s business market activities, setting the company’s commercial strategy in the business domain. The one-stop-shop for the Corporate Market and SMEs with regard to secure, flexible, futureproof networks and being able to work in the cloud anytime, anywhere. The focus is on creating value for businesses in the Netherlands, including innovations and secure ICT solutions to increase the cyber resilience of public authorities and of organizations.
Chantal has held numerous positions in civil society organizations. Until June 1, 2023 she was chair of the Supervisory Board of Dierenbescherming [Animal Welfare], chair of the Supervisory Board of Stichting Landelijke Inspectie Dienst [National Animal Welfare Inspectorate], a board member of Stichting Kunst en Onderneming Brabant [Foundation for Art and Enterprise in Brabant], the driving force behind NL2025 and NL Vitaal and a member of the Committee of Recommendation of Leaders in Finance.
The best thing about KPN is, in her opinion, that it is a very customer-oriented company that is part of our national heritage and that makes an impact on Dutch society with its technology and experts.
