("Walker Crips" or the "Company")

Appointment of Non-Executive Chairman

Walker Crips Group plc announces that Jo Welman has joined the Company as Non-Executive Chairman and Board Director, taking over from Martin Wright who is stepping down as a Director, effective on 30 April 2025.

Jo began his career at Baring Asset Management, where he spent ten years managing substantial UK and US pension scheme assets and authorised equity unit trusts. In 1989, he was appointed Chief Executive of Rea Brothers Investment Management, then the loss-making investment management subsidiary of Rea Brothers, a merchant bank. Under his leadership, the business was successfully transformed, with its High Net Worth and specialist fund franchises representing approximately 30% of the banking group's profits by the time of its acquisition by Close Brothers Group plc in 1997.

Jo stepped down from the board of Close Brothers to assume the Chairmanship of Brit Insurance Holdings plc ("Brit"), a company he co-founded in 1995. In 2001, in partnership with Brit, he established Epic Investment Partners, an innovative specialist fund and fixed income asset manager, which was later acquired by AIM-listed Syndicate Asset Management. In addition, Jo is a non-executive director of Ark Syndicate Management, the successful Lloyd's of London and Bermudan underwriter.

Sean Lam, Chief Executive Officer, commented: "Jo has been at the sharp end of the financial services industry for 40 years and we look forward to the leadership that he will bring to the Board, and the valuable experiences that he will bring to our business."

We would like to express our appreciation and thanks to Martin for his significant contribution since joining the Board in 1996 and as our Chairman since 2020. During Martin's tenure as Chair, he has provided invaluable leadership and strategic oversight to the Company. His commitment has been second to none, and his steady leadership has been invaluable to the Company. On behalf of the executive team and all members of the firm, I extend our sincere gratitude to Martin, and wish him well for the future."

The information required by UK Listing Rule 6.4.8 in respect of Jo Welman will be announced separately.
