Kauka-Characters get back to Munich roots

Munich, May 20, 2014: Your Family Entertainment AG, Munich, acquires all rights to the Kauka characters from Alexandra Kauka, owner and heiress of Rolf Kauka. Rolf Kauka is known for his "Kauka Comicosmos" and was called the German Walt Disney at an exhibition of the Chamber of Commerce in Washington. The signing of contract of the execution agreement took place between Dr. Stefan Piëch, CEO of Your Family Entertainment AG and Alexandra Kauka in Munich.

The company now owns all brand and merchandising rights as well as book and film rights of all characters of the "Kauka Comicosmos". Mole, Pauli and the wolf Lupo as well as the worldwide well-known characters of Fix & Foxi (see picture), as created by the German author Rolf Kauka 60 years ago range amongst the most successful characters in kids and youth entertainment. The archive with original drawings of Rolf Kauka remains property of the family.

"We set a very important strategic milestone with the acquisition of Rolf Kauka's oeuvre for positioning the YFE as leading German supplier of European quality content in the children's sector."

Already in the '80s the cooperation between Rolf Kauka and YFE has been founded. YFE was also co-producer of the popular TV series Fix & Foxi and now owns unlimited exploitation rights. The company plans the exploitation of digital books in step one and licencing as well as merchandising of the famous characters. YFE plans to produce content for all media, including the big screen.
