Thomas Kunder (45) has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer
(CFO) of listed private equity company Heliad. He replaces his predecessor,
Alexander Mitsch, who left the company last month.
Mr. Kunder has accumulated over the past 16 years financial expertise in
the areas of private equity, corporate transactions as well as accounting
and valuation. Between 2006 and his arrival at Heliad, he was senior
manager within the transaction services department at KPMG in Frankfurt. In
this position, he managed financial due diligence projects for company
acquisitions by international and national private equity investors and
strategic investors. Between 2000 and 2004, he performed a similar task as
senior manager of corporate transaction services at Price Waterhouse
Coopers AG, Frankfurt. In addition to that, Mr. Kunder was senior vice
president at Hudson Advisors, a specialised advisor of distressed loan
investments. After completing his studies in business administration, he
began his professional career as an auditor and tax accountant with KPMG AG
in Frankfurt and New York, where he managed and performed audits of the
annual reports of medium-sized and large corporations for eight years.
Ralf Flore, CEO of Heliad, 'Mr. Kunder brings in-depth experience in the
private equity sector and in the areas of accounting and valuation to his
position as Chief Financial Officer of Heliad. He is a valuable addition to
our team, not only under the current market conditions, where we will
further manage our existing portfolio and use our solid cash position to
take advantage of increasingly attractive acquisition opportunities.'
Heliad has hired three additional staff in the last three months next to
Mr. Kunder. In August, Alexander Schwarz (40) has been integrated into the
team as Operating Director. He has eleven years of private equity know-how
and three years industry expertise given his tenure at listed Alno AG.
Prior to this tenure, Alexander Schwarz used to be partner at
Munich-based private equity fund Alfinum. Michael Rolf (35) has been
Investment Manager for Heliad since October. As an auditor for Price
Waterhouse Coopers in recent years, he managed the provision of financial
due diligence services for financial and strategic investors. His
professional career began in the auditing department of BDO Deutsche
Warentreuhand. In addition, Oliver Warnken (26) joined Heliad's team as an
Analyst.
