The commitment on the part of UniCredit Markets & Investment Banking
(Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank AG) to act as a second designated sponsor
– alongside the small-cap specialist Close Brothers Seydler – is enhancing
the capital market presence of Heliad, which is listed on the Prime
Standard of Deutsche Börse. From 1 July 2007 onwards, both designated
sponsors will be making offers to sell and buy in XETRA trading, thereby
ensuring good tradability of Heliad shares, resulting in a lower spread and
lower transaction costs. As a result, this will further boost the high
liquidity level of trading in Heliad shares.
In addition, these brokerage houses will aid the company with their
networks on the capital market, particularly among investor contacts.
Ralf Flore, CEO, sees the conclusion of the agreement with Unicredit as a
designated sponsor as a positive signal to the capital market: 'Given the
current high liquidity levels of its shares, Heliad can also be easily
traded by institutional investors, making it generally suitable as an
investment. In future, UniCredit’s good contacts on the capital market will
result in greater awareness of Heliad as one of Germany’s largest listed
investment companies.'
