DEAG seeks to grow in the area of Family Entertainment through cooperation with Dresdner Weihnachts-Circus - Option to acquire 100% of the shares agreed for spring 2023

Berlin, 14 October 2022 – DEAG Deutsche Entertainment Aktiengesellschaft (“DEAG”) has signed a cooperation agreement with Dresdner Weihnachts-Circus (DWC). The company is thus further expanding its business activities in the Family Entertainment sector in line with its strategy. Already for the upcoming 2022/2023 season (15 December 2022 to 6 January 2023), the DEAG Group’s own ticketing platform, myticket, will thus become a DWC ticketing partner with immediate effect. Among other services, the partnership includes multi-channel ticketing sales for many events.  DWC is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year under the direction of Mario Müller-Milano and is one of the largest Christmas circuses in Germany with 70,000 visitors each year. Visitors to the Dresdner Weihnachts-Circus experience artistry in perfection and a unique variety of animal species in a show lasting around 120 minutes, accompanied by a show ballet, singers and a 12-piece orchestra.

DEAG has a strong Christmas business and has already been successfully operating Christmas circuses in Essen, Hanover and Regensburg for several years. Through this cooperation and the purchase option with the Weihnachts-Circus in Dresden, DEAG is adding another attractive location to its portfolio. Besides positive impulses for the ticketing business, DEAG expects to further strengthen its Christmas business, which includes the successful “Christmas Garden” format and Christmas markets in Kiel and Wuppertal. Synergy effects will also result for DEAG from DWC’s cooperation with its productions in Dresden, such as the Dresden Christmas Garden in Pillnitz Palace and “TimeRide Dresden,” where visitors can embark on a historical journey through baroque Dresden. As part of the cooperation with DWC, a right of first refusal on all business shares of Dresdner Weihnachts-Circus was agreed for DEAG.

“We expect to have a strong fourth quarter, which will be significantly influenced by our Christmas business. We are very pleased to be able to cooperate with Dresdner Weihnachts-Circus with another top-class event. The ticketing collaboration is an initial important step in our partnership, which we intend to expand by acquiring a stake in the future,” said Professor Peter L.H. Schwenkow.
