Cembra Money Bank comments on recent media reports

Today Cembra Money Bank has learned from the media that the Zurich State Prosecutor has initiated a preliminary examination in relation to a potential breach of banking secrecy. Cembra Money Bank has contacted the State Prosecutor who confirms to have initiated customary preliminary examinations in early June, when media articles were published. This preliminary examination may refer to the allegations by a former credit agent, which led to an ongoing investigation by FINMA.

If the State Prosecutor, based on his preliminary examinations decides to initiate an investigation, Cembra Money Bank will fully cooperate with the authorities. Such formal investigation would primarily be directed against individuals and not against the Bank.

Cembra Money Bank again firmly refutes the recent media allegations as instigated by a former credit agent. Those media reports have apparently been published in connection with a pending civil litigation initiated by a former agent and refer to a period prior to 2011. Cembra Money Bank is convinced that the claim of a former agent lacks proper legal basis and, hence, is without merit.
