On August 6, 2014, BlackRock, Inc., New York, NY, U.S.A., has informed us
according to Article 21, Section 1 of the WpHG that its proportion of
voting rights on Brenntag AG, Stinnes-Platz 1, 45472 Mülheim an der Ruhr,
Germany, has fallen below the 5% threshold of the voting rights on July 31,
2014 and on that day amounted to 4.98% (this corresponds to 7,691,136
voting rights).

4.98% of the voting rights (this corresponds to 7,691,136 voting rights) is
to be attributed to the company according to Article 22, Section 1,
Sentence 1, No. 6 in connection with Sentence 2 of the WpHG.
